In the first step, all tools are cleaned. This is absolutely necessary before all further processing steps in order to remove the grinding oil, and other impurities. Depending on the tool geometry, shank tools are cleaned in special, temperature-resistant plastic cleaning holders with plug-in inserts for different shank diameters. Several cleaning systems adapted to, are available for cleaning the tools.
After further pretreatment steps, such as  an adapted blasting process, the tools are cleaned again to produce a clean surface once more. When blasting shank tools, special, stainless sleeves with  holes are used to discharge the abrasive. These blast sleeves are positioned by a pin on the blast tower.
